Up at the Pitztal Ice cave on Sunday getting acquainted with my ice tools & fear again. Steffi and I took the "Pizza Express" up to the ski resort, walked 50m to a chair lift and at the bottom of that it was a 100m walk to the ice cave. As far as ice climbing goes this was a particularly mentally and physically taxing approach;-)
This photo shows Steffi on some "reasonably steep" ice...

And this is some other dude figure-of-fouring out the first moves of some ice desperado ... my forearms were pumped just watching;-)

So the ice climbing got the preference.... hehehe... nice pics! And I'm sure Steffi was beaming... lol
We ended up going up Herzogstand and then down the front trail to the Gondel Parking lot... was quite amazing and I only flipped once... :o))
Hi K. That Herzogstand trail sounds good, I haven't done it yet. We should try and fix a ride before the snows come, and meet this new man of yours.
ps. yeah, Steffi beamed, cranked well and was very motivated... also did a great job at keeping my camera warm :-))
yo - seems to me that the top photo is a little, actually, a lot rotated :)
I hope you did your fair share of cranking!
