Samoens: +9 deg C and pissing down relentlessly. The rain got a little lighter at 5pm so I went for a road ride up the Joux Plane. Managed to get my ass + 13kg of Turner and 2.35" Fat Alberts up the 1000m ascent in 1hr 20mins (what took me so long?). Thought I'd see a few more roadies out but perhaps the wet, cold weather was putting them off a wee bit - you know what these shaved legged folk are like;-) Anyways, total respect for the TDF lads doing it in 35mins!

Col de Joux Plane
